The ECOBATCH® series of concrete batching plants, manufactured by SPANOS Group, has become the first globally to obtain an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

Environmental awareness and sustainability in construction are fundamental elements of corporate social responsibility and are often detailed in the annual environmental reports of construction companies. The EPDs for SPANOS’ concrete batching plants now play a crucial role not only in providing a reliable and accurate carbon footprint but also in actively reducing it.
In order to obtain EPDs for its ECOBATCH® series, SPANOS Group collaborated with ENVIROMETRICS, a specialized consultant in environmental protection and sustainable development. They created the corresponding International Product Category Rules (PCR) within the framework of EPD International.
The choice of an advanced ready-mix concrete production facility, ECOBATCH®, from Lafarge, a member of the HERACLES Group (Holcim), validates the competitive advantage of SPANOS’ concrete batching plants. This exemplary unit, the first globally with an Environmental Product Declaration, has been installed in Ellinikon to meet the increased project demands. The Ellinikon sets new standards for sustainable urban development. It seeks to become a global model for large scale “green” development projects.
ECOBATCH® is an innovative and integrated ready-mix concrete production system with significant energy savings and improved productivity, designed and developed by the SPANOS Group. It incorporates 30 years of high expertise and deep technical knowledge, making it the most advanced in the market, with increased productivity, lower energy consumption per produced m3 of ready-mix concrete, and the lowest carbon footprint in its design and construction stages. It also holds a Patent Certificate from the OBI with the number 1010334.
The ECOBATCH® series is available in multiple configurations (road mobile, semi-mobile, stationary) with production capacities ranging from 65 m3/h to 175 m3/h.
